I just finished up this commission. JUST in time for Christmas! And what a pleasure to work on this piece - a place near and dear to my heart too! Many a day I drove the Indian Point loop to nap my babies and would park the car to look at this beautiful view while babies slept. A wonderful moment of peace in a life of busy-ness. Definitely a favorite spot of mine!

I have two commission spots open for January.
But for now, I’m putting my feet up and reveling in the gratitude of the season, and for all your support! 2025 was a huge year for my art business and I’m ever so thankful to you all! Thank you for your support this year! Merry Christmas to you and yours ♥️

Originally from European Waters, they have spread widely and are now considered one of the most invasive marine species. They are adaptive and resilient and thrive in environments that can challenge most species.

Despite their disruption, I think they’re beautiful.

I titled it 'Beach-Comber'. This image shows it as a 24x36 😍 It's fun to see how a large piece of art can transform a space! While attempting to tidy the mess that is my paint cart today, I picked up this mug and saw an inscription on the bottom. To Gordie, 1975. It was made by my grandmother for our grandfather, as a gift. 50 years ago. They’re still together. ♥️ Love

I have a love hate relationship with trying to be a content creator when I really just wanna be an artist. But I do love connecting with so many of you that have become friends through our shared love of art making over here!

If you’re new on my feed, thank you so much for giving my art journey a follow. I like to think of Instagram as a living journal where I can post pieces that are in the works and things that I’m excited to be creating and sharing with you.

I create an all sorts of mediums from traditional paint and pencil to digital artwork. I sell my originals and prints in my online shop, notecards and other stationary products. I also license my work for fabric and home goods.

Being from Nova Scotia, it will come as no surprise that I am very much inspired by our coastal communities and love to paint everything from the ocean to the skies above it and the birds and creatures that live on our beautiful East coast shores.

Today I’m working on a peaceful scene of some colorful dories tied up to a dock. I’ll share more when it’s a bit further along. ❤️🎨

I was delighted to find an email in my inbox from a sweet lady I met in Peggy’s Cove over the summer. She purchased one of my ‘Big Lobster’ postcards from @hagsonthehill and was inspired to recreate my painting in a rug! How fun is this?! I so admire the art form of rug hooking and I’m in awe of what a great job she did 🦞♥️
