I love seeing my work in LARGE scale. This was an original 16x20 I painted from a photo my husband had taken when we were out searching the beach for treasure with the kids. I titled it 'Beach-Comber'. This image shows it as a 24x36 😍 It's fun to see how a large piece of art can transform a space! While attempting to tidy the mess that is my paint cart today, I picked up this mug and saw an inscription on the bottom. To Gordie, 1975. It was made by my grandmother for our grandfather, as a gift. 50 years ago. They’re still together. ♥️ Love

I have a love hate relationship with trying to be a content creator when I really just wanna be an artist. But I do love connecting with so many of you that have become friends through our shared love of art making over here!

If you’re new on my feed, thank you so much for giving my art journey a follow. I like to think of Instagram as a living journal where I can post pieces that are in the works and things that I’m excited to be creating and sharing with you.

I create an all sorts of mediums from traditional paint and pencil to digital artwork. I sell my originals and prints in my online shop, notecards and other stationary products. I also license my work for fabric and home goods.

Being from Nova Scotia, it will come as no surprise that I am very much inspired by our coastal communities and love to paint everything from the ocean to the skies above it and the birds and creatures that live on our beautiful East coast shores.

Today I’m working on a peaceful scene of some colorful dories tied up to a dock. I’ll share more when it’s a bit further along. ❤️🎨

~I’m Lyndsay.
~Born in Newfoundland, raised in Cape Breton.
~Moved to the mainland NS and settled down.
~My husband and I are raising and homeschooling four kids 👦👦👧👧
~Novice homesteaders, we keep laying hens 🐓 bake bread 🍞 and try to grow veg, although I’m proving to be better at growing flowers than food 🤷‍♀️
~I’m self taught and create in many mediums, painting mostly in acrylic and designing surface patterns are two of my main focuses, it can be an obsessive practice! I work from my home studio.
~We live close to the ocean and it’s a constant source of inspiration for my art. 🐚
~Honored to be one of the newer ‘Hags on the Hill’ in Peggy’s Cove where you can find my art on exhibit seasonally through the warmer months. 🌊 Along with a beautiful collective of artisans @hagsonthehill

I created this piece after coming across a little pile of mussel shells I found on our deck, curated by one of my children no doubt after a recent beach-combing trip. I’m unsure which one it was, but the deep blue tones were speaking to me, all jumbled up in that heap of shells.
